Nikon and Canon Going Mirrorless (The Unpopular Opinion)

Nikon and Canon are going mirrorless, finally. But is them being forced actually a good thing? Here is my unpopular opinion on the subject. Also, no this video is not about the DSLR vs mirrorless debate.
Both camera brands are being forced to go mirrorless because of how much Sony has done in the full frame market over the past two years. But is Nikon jumping the ball to soon by announcing what they will be doing shortly? Is Canon waiting until 2019 a smart move or something that can be seen as too late?
People like an option of going mirrorless because of the tech you can inlcude. EVF, better video options, smaller size...etc. What do you think? Is this a lose lose situation for Nikon or Canon?

As always "Keep an Eye Out!"
